Gross vs Net Pay

Gross Pay is the total money you make before any taxes or deductions are taken out. Net Pay (Take-Home Pay) is the actual money you get in your bank account to spend or save.

What are Deductions?

Deductions are amounts taken out of your gross pay. This usually includes income taxes, provident fund (PF), health insurance, and other benefits. Our tool lets you add these easily as a percentage or a fixed amount.

Hourly & Overtime

If you are paid by the hour, you can easily switch the calculator to "Per Hour" mode. You can also turn on the "Overtime" feature to see exactly how much extra money you make when working longer hours.

Visual Breakdown

It is easier to plan your budget when you know exactly where your money is going. Our advanced doughnut chart splits your salary into Take-Home Pay, Income Tax, Retirement, and Insurance so you can see the big picture.

Frequently Asked Questions

To find your take-home pay, simply enter your base salary into our calculator. Then, add any bonuses or overtime you receive. Finally, enter the percentage or fixed amount that gets deducted for taxes and insurance. The calculator will instantly show your final take-home pay.

When you are hired, companies quote your gross salary. However, the law requires companies to deduct income taxes, and sometimes retirement contributions (like PF or 401k), before paying you. The money left over is your net pay.

If you enable overtime, the tool figures out your hourly rate (based on your salary and standard hours). It then multiplies your overtime hours by your overtime rate (usually 1.5x) to add the extra money to your total gross pay.
